Mississippi district buys a laptop for every kid and teacher

Every student and teacher at Hancock High School in Mississippi will be issued a laptop computer next fall, courtesy of the district.

The Hancock County School District will spend about $2 million to purchase 1,100 StudyPro laptops. Students will be assigned a computer to keep until leaving the district.The move makes the district the first in the state, and one of only 13 public school districts nationwide, to take such a step, according to the Associated Press.
