THE AMERICAN EDUCATION CORPORATION OFFERS NEW HIGH SCHOOL ELECTIVE COURSES

Oklahoma City, October 20, 2006: The American Education Corporation (AEC)–publisher of the A+nyWhere Learning System® (A+LS™) curriculum courseware program–announced today that it has recently released high school elective courses in Anthropology, Art Appreciation, Health, Humanities I, Lifetime Fitness, and Sociology. All electives meet the requirements of a one-semester high school course and are incorporated into the existing A+LS management system.

The new elective courses were created in response to an overwhelming customer demand for courses outside the A+LS coursewares popular core subjects of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, as many states currently require elective courses related to physical education and the arts to meet graduation requirements.

The A+LS Electives focus the student on gaining a broad perspective of the subject through personal exploration. As a result, there is a significant emphasis on essays, projects, journals, and constructed responses. By requiring students to research materials through a variety of resources, these courses contribute to student growth in self-reliance.
