Connecticut becomes second state to probe JuicyCampus

On March 21, Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal announced he has launched an investigation into whether the college gossip web site JuicyCampus and its Nevada-based owner, Lime Blue LLC, are abiding by rules to prohibit "libelous, defamatory, and abusive postings," reports The Day of New London, Conn. Blumenthal’s investigation comes on the heels of New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram’s announcement March 18 that she is investigating whether the site violates New Jersey’s consumer fraud laws (see story http://www.eschoolnews.com/news/top-news/?i=53148). "…Students and administrators at Yale and other colleges and universities complain that the site is rife with malicious falsehoods and provides no means to report and remove such abuses," a press release from Blumenthal’s office reads. Blumenthal sent the owner of the site a letter requesting information by April 11 on how the site enforces its rules…
