McAfee launches free online cyber-crime help center

Is your computer acting funny? Are you worried that you might have visited a malicious web site or opened an eMail attachment with malware? Now, you can now go to a new web site that McAfee is launching on April 28, designed to help computer users figure out if they have legitimate reason to be concerned, CNET reports. The new Cybercrime Response Unit offers a forensic scanning tool that checks for malware on a user’s computer, as well as cookies left by suspicious web sites, to help determine if the machine has been compromised. A toll-free number is available for people whose scan results are worrisome. If visitors feel they might have been victimized by cyber crime, they can click through to a page that contains a series of questions that will be used to determine the level of risk…
