Cablevision rolling out 24-hour high school network

Cablevision is set to launch a round-the-clock network following high school sports and news in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley, reports the Lower Hudson Journal News. MSG Varsity, a 24-hour high school television network, interactive web site, and on-demand channel, will launch on Sept. 24. MSG Varsity will feature mainly sports programming, but it also will include other school-related activities. It will be broadcast into four regions across the New York City Metropolitan Area. "We’re working directly with local high schools to build partnerships, and we want to give them the tools to co-produce content with us, "said Theresa Chillianis, general manager of MSG Varsity. "The idea is to give them the training, resources, and the access to our experts so that they can tell the stories themselves."
