Illinois District Wins CDI “Share Your Story” Contest

Chicago, IL February 15, 2010 – CDI, North America’s largest supplier of recertified, brand name computers to the educational market, announce today that Vienna High School District #13-3 won the first ever CDI “Share Your Story” contest. Vienna High School Principal Patrick Harner’s compelling technology story stood out from the hundreds of entries that were received.
Harner wrote a moving story about how the district is trying to keep technology current for their students so they can enter the 21st century world of college and work with high-level technology skills.

CDI is providing the district with a Complete Tech Lab that includes:

• 30 recertified Dell Optiplex GX620 Computers with full 3-year warranty
• 30 recertified Dell 19” LCD’s with full 3-year warranty
• All cables and accessories
• Bedmas keyboards
• 77” Interactive Whiteboard
• Total value of more than $10,000

Principal Patrick Harner’s story is echoed by districts across the nation…professionals like Harner just do not have the technology dollars to service their districts effectively.

CDI offers districts a solution to increase the availability of computers for students while dramatically reducing technology spending through their cost effective recertified technology solutions. CDI provides schools with current, reliable technology that is far less expensive than new equipment. This approach has revolutionized technology purchases and allowed many districts to dramatically improve their computer to student ratios.

“When technology grants were abundant, our district did well in building a nice computer lab for our students,” Harner stated. “However, as the years have gone by, our technology system has gotten older and older and now is falling way behind many of the applications that can be run on our computers. This outstanding gift from CDI will allow our students to “stay in the game” when it comes to using technology.”
“Like many of its peers, the Vienna High School District has been hamstrung by scarce resources, even as technology demands increase,” stated Saar Pikar, General Manager of CDI. “Upon hearing so many challenging stories we commend Vienna High School Principal Patrick Harner and others for their resourcefulness and commitment to their students. This award is our strong recognition of every district’s determination to expand their unique capabilities to provide the very best cost effective technology solution for their students.”
