Press Release: Fort Bend Independent School District Upgrades to Skyward Student Management Suite
Fort Bend Independent School District Upgrades to Skyward Student Management Suite™
Skyward chosen because of proven success in Texas school districts along with outstanding track
record with Texas state reporting requirements (PEIMS reporting).
STEVENS POINT, WI – Skyward, Inc. announced today that the Fort Bend Independent School District located in Sugar Land, Texas has chosen the Skyward Student Management Suite as their district’s student information system (SIS). Fort Bend ISD will join the more than 180 school districts throughout the state of Texas that currently use Skyward as their administrative software provider.
With the support being discontinued on their previous student information system, and a lack of a single database for overall control of their student information, Fort Bend ISD was looking for a new solution. The district’s search criteria included finding a vendor that could not only provide a quality software package with ongoing support but also had a proven track record in regards to the vital Texas state reporting requirements.
“Fort Bend ISD has found an advanced and complete student information system solution with Skyward,” said Scott Glinski, President of Skyward. “With Skyward’s exceptional reputation with Texas districts and our unparalleled commitment to PEIMS reporting, Fort Bend ISD will be provided with continuous support and outstanding service to help the district meet their educational and student achievement goals.”
In addition to an industry leading student information system backed with exceptional state reporting and customer support, Fort Bend ISD will also benefit from being able to take part in the Texas Skyward User Group (TSUG) conference. Held annually in October of each year, the conference attracts over 900 attendees from districts around the state of Texas. At this two-day interactive event, attendees gather to learn how to improve their proficiency with the software and to share “best practices”.
The seventh largest district in Texas, Fort Bend ISD has a district population of 68,999 students at 10 high schools, 13 middle schools, 45 elementary schools, 1 technical education center, 1 alternative education center, and 1 progressive high school. Located in Sugar Land, Texas, about 35 miles southwest of Houston, Fort Bend ISD is also the largest employer in Fort Bend County with 8,584 full-time and 635 part-time employees.
