Cerebellum Corp. Receives Its First Communicator Award from the International Academy of Visual Arts
‘Teaching Systems Fundamental Math: Measurements & Ratios’ is honored with an Award of Distinction in the Education category
San Francisco, CA—June 7, 2010— Cerebellum Corporation, the producer and distributor of the Standard Deviants videos, has received a 2010 Communicator Award of Distinction in the Education category for Fundamental Math: Measurement & Ratios from the International Academy of Visual Arts. The 2010 Communicator Awards featured more than 7,000 entries, making this one of the largest and most elite awards of its kind.
As part of the Teaching Systems product line, the Fundamental Math: Measurement & Percents video program provides an extensive tour through the field of measurement. Students learn ways to calculate speed, area, perimeter, and ratios through on-screen visualization of the problem. Concepts also include metric and standard measurements, conversions of units, and strategic thinking skills in rounding units of measurement and ratios. The video uses a young and diverse group of actors, on-screen graphics, and funny antics to engage the students and reinforce key learning points.
Cerebellum’s Teaching Systems product line combines entertaining video with digital workbooks to reinforce difficult topics in core curriculum subjects. Each program is based on state standards and provides a unique approach to classroom learning. Along with a video tutorial, each program includes lesson plans, quizzes, handouts and classroom activities.
“We are amazed and thrilled to be honored with a Communicator Award. The Cerebellum team is committed to providing quality educational programming for teachers and students. Receiving such a prestigious award is humbling and exciting. A job well done – by the entire Cerebellum team,” said Cerebellum President, James Rena.
