Press Release: SerifExpands Its Flagship Design Suite of Creative Software Tools Adding Video and Digital Scrapbooks ToThe Lesson Plan

DENVER, COLO., ISTE 2010 BOOTH #1322 – JUNE 28, 2010 – ISTE 100 member Serif Inc., a leading developer of professional and consumer-oriented desktop publishing, design and graphics software, today introduced an expanded Design Suite of integrated software programs. The new Design Suite Deluxe adds Serif’s MoviePlus and Digital Scrapbook Artist software programs to the core package of DrawPlus, WebPlus, PagePlus, PhotoPlus and Teacher Resources. By adding video and digital scrapbooks as teaching media, Serif is addressing teacher feedback and introducing new lesson possibilities within the easy-to-learn and integrated family of products.

All versions of the Design Suite include extensive Teacher Resources materials, and teacher home use is included in each license. Serif executives will be discussing the new Design Suite packages in booth #1322 of The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) Annual Conference & Exposition (ISTE 2010) beginning today in Denver, Colo.

“Students are increasingly shooting and sharing their own video, as well as memorializing personal and public events with digital images. Their comfort in the Serif environment and their confidence with these formats make the new suite components an easy and fun new way to bring lessons to life,” said Colin Hussey, Business Manager for Education at Serif. “The fully integrated Design Suite programs share a common interface so teacher and students alike can quickly become familiar with the software and keep their lessons on track. Further, our new packages and value-focused pricing make the software that much easier for school administrators to bring into a classroom quickly.”

Serif graphics software has always provided easy-to-use tools accessible to every student, for projects ranging from digital storytelling, to math and science lessons, to supporting remedial units. The Serif Design Suite is now available for K – 12 schools in four flexible license options that meet the needs of schools’ specific curriculum requirements, district sizes and budgets.
