Press Release: WAZA, NEW MATH /STEM READINESS PROGRAM, FEATURES ADAPTIVE CURRICULUM FOR PERSONALIZED LEARNING AND IS CORRELATED TO THE CORE STANDARDS

Waza™, an interactive math readiness adventure, is now available to schools. Waza™ (http://www.sixredmarbles.com/Waza/) ignites an early passion for math by immersing kids in fun challenges, not “math problems,” in a vibrant and intuitive play experience.

Correlated to Core, NCTM, and all 50 States learning standards, Waza™ is an engaging intergalactic journey through basic math that builds critical pre-math competencies including visual recognition, comparing quantities, estimating, 1:1 correspondence, sequencing, order, and counting.

The program was developed by Six Red Marbles, an award-winning developer of interactive educational materials for McGraw-Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Pearson. The company’s new offerings integrate the latest neuroscience research on how children learn with time-tested traditional teaching methods and interactive online discovery—resulting in fun, engaging learning experiences.

To support differentiated instruction, Waza™ is structured with an automatic Adaptive Curriculum which responds to each student’s performance and challenges each student based on his/her individual progress. This feature, which includes feedback and instructional coaching, allows students to have a positive and personalized learning experience.

To track each student’s progress and mastery of math topics aligned to standards, a Teacher Dashboard provides a real-time display of successes and challenges, as well as access to comprehensive reporting.

And to allow for anytime, anywhere learning and parental participation, a Parent Connection provides parents and their children access to the program at home or anywhere, with login information provided by the teacher.

“From the neuroscience research we’ve studied, it’s clear that children must be engaged and experience positive reinforcement to learn successfully,” said Sarah White, President and founder of Six Red Marbles. “We’ve designed Waza™ specifically to generate a positive attitude about learning math so that kids will want to continue to learn, and do more math.”
