Press Release: Harris Introduces, One-Click Meal Application Registration

September 7, 2011–Harris School Solutions is pleased to announce the release of, the online registration form for free and reduced meal applications.

Districts spend significant amounts of time processing free and reduced meal applications throughout the year and automating this process allows districts to focus on other areas of their business,” stated Harris Executive Vice President Bradley Blankenship. is currently available to eTrition customers. The browser-based eTrition enterprise school nutrition system features a centralized database, point of service, menu planning and nutritional analysis, financial accounting, reporting, RocketSCAN integration, online payment options and data backup. The design is Section 508 compliant, meeting the requirements for use by those with disabilities; and it meets all nutrition department standards set forth by the USDA.

The module replaces the costly, labor-intensive process of manually re-entering and scanning data from handwritten applications. The online application process reduces paper costs and waste, minimizes interpretation errors, and allows for quicker eligibility notification. It is compatible with all browsers and allows parents to submit their applications for free and reduced meals from any internet-accessible computer.

“Standard handwritten applications are time consuming to enter, and many times children are denied benefits because of an incomplete application. allows parents to quickly and securely enter free and reduced applications online via any web browser,” stated Blankenship.
