Press Release: WorldView Software Announces The Release of Its New Web-Based Social Studies Products Winner of two EDDIE Awards and recommended as a textbook in Oregon The same award-winning content now available in an innovative and easy-to-use format
Hicksville, NY – November 1, 2011 – WorldView Software®, a producer of some of the most widely used middle/high school level computer-based social studies learning tools, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of a new Web version of its award-winning products.
WorldView products are self-contained curricula, complete with a modern, sleek design with features such as primary source documents, study questions, and audio that is built right into the lessons. The programs are highly adaptable to suit individual needs: as self-paced study guides for students, as resources for educators, and as classroom textbooks.
WorldView Software promotes academic excellence, and has been recognized dozens of times since its initial inception in 1990, winning a total of nine BESSIE and EDDIE Awards, including 2011 EDDIES for its new Web-based titles, U.S. Government and Basic American History I. WorldView products have been approved as textbooks in Texas and Alabama, and now U.S. Government has been recommended for adoption as a high school textbook by the Oregon State Education Department.
CompuED Gazette writes of this WorldView product: “U.S. Government: An Interactive Approach is a very comprehensive high school/post-secondary program…. It would enhance any classroom environment – traditional, advanced placement, community college, or home school – and provides tools to reinforce classroom lectures. The program could also lend itself to independent study or cooperative learning, allowing the teacher to design a learning experience that meets the needs of individuals or groups.”
The products are available for classroom testing through the end of 2011 and can be purchased for both home and school users starting January 1, 2012. A free preview is available at www.worldviewsoftware.com.
