Alexandria, VA (1/17/2012)—ASCD, the global leader in providing programs, products, and services that empower educators to support the success of each learner, announces the complete schedule for the association’s 2012 Virtual Conference. The 2012 Virtual Conference will run concurrent with ASCD’s 67th Annual Conference and Exhibit Show March 24–26 in Philadelphia, Pa.

For the first time, ASCD will provide online participants a full virtual conference experience with live streams of more than 20 conference sessions. Participants in the 2012 Virtual Conference will be able to access all session handouts and resources online, participate in question-and-answer sessions with presenters along with the live audiences, and watch interviews with special guests conducted by the association’s on-air hosts. In addition, to facilitate extended learning, virtual attendees will have access to the archived live-stream conference sessions through September 2012.

“ASCD is a global organization with a mission to support the success of each learner,” said ASCD’s interim chief program development officer, Ed Milliken. “By leveraging technology, we are able to bring some of the key content presented during our Annual Conference and Exhibit Show to a worldwide audience. Conference attendees in Philadelphia are also invited to participate in the 2012 Annual Conference Tweet Up hosted by the ASCD EDge® social networking platform and sponsored by Scientific Learning, with additional support from Edutopia. The tweet up will allow educators engaged in social media to meet face-to-face with ASCD authors, important leaders of the online education revolution, and the @ASCD Twitter team, as well as connect with fellow conference attendees.
