Press Release: Mackin’s Summer Reading Packages Encourage Year-Round Reading

To promote summer reading and help support literacy skills, Mackin Educational Resources is providing high-quality, affordable and customizable book and backpack packages for school-to-home and family literacy programs.

Educators can order Mackin’s Summer Reading Packages developed by classroom professionals for kindergarten through middle school students. These packages include leveled, high-interest books with reading program labels attached, inserted within nylon drawstring backpacks (available in five colors). Spanish titles are also available, and shipping is provided free of charge.

Educators may also choose to have their Summer Reading Packages organized by genre, grade level, reading level, etc., with reading logs, bookmarks, summer reading program brochures or public library summer services added to backpacks. Mackin also provides custom book lists for the school free of charge.

“We’re happy to provide the interesting and fun titles within our Summer Reading Packages that encourage recreational reading and help prevent summer slide,” said Mackin president, Randal Heise. “Many educators find them to be a useful incentive in motivating student attendance and participation in summer reading programs.”

Additional information along with sample titles are available on Mackin.com, or call 800-245-9540.

Mackin Educational Resources has provided library and classroom materials to PK-12 schools for 28 years. Known for its high commitment to customer care and customization, Mackin provides print books, ebooks, online databases, audiobooks, video resources and more to schools around the globe.
