Press Release: MediaCore Short-listed for BETT 2013 Award
New kid on the block MediaCore is celebrating its short-listing for a 2013 BETT Award in the ICT Tools for Learning and Teaching category. MediaCore’s cloud-based video publishing platform helps schools, colleges and universities create a truly inclusive and engaging online learning experience. Now in its 15th year, the BETT Awards recognise distinctive and diverse digital education resources that meet the needs of the education system.
Eagerly adopted by educational institutions in the UK and US, MediaCore enables teachers and students to create content using a standard video recorder or mobile device and upload it to their site via the company’s Capture app for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch, the Uploader app for Mac, or a browser-based upload function for Windows PCs. Content can be managed and shared securely with specified users who can access it from any mobile device or PC, providing students with flexible learning options anywhere, anytime, on any device.
MediaCore CEO Stuart Bowness commented on the short-listing, “We are thrilled that the innovative characteristics of our video learning platform are being recognized. Video is a powerful medium for engaging people with different learning styles, and by simplifying the end-to-end process for educators, we allow them to focus on providing the right learning content for each audience. With our tools, anyone can provide an awesome media library for their students.”
Each year, a large number of entries for the BETT awards are received from a broad range of organisations of all sizes. The judges, comprised of leading education sector stakeholders, look for organisations and products that show a clear understanding of the sector and its needs.
Debbie French, event director at i2i Events Group comments: “It is the quality of these products and services that helps to maintain the UK’s position as the leader in the use of technology in education. The specific nature of each individual child’s learning requirements means that judging the products and services entered into the BETT Awards is possibly the most challenging of any award programme. This year we have been astounded by the levels of innovation in the judged products.”
To celebrate its success MediaCore is giving away free teacher and professor accounts to visitors that register on its stand F319 at the 2013 BETT Show.
Winners will be announced at the BETT Awards dinner on Wednesday 30 January 2013 at the new Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, Tower Bridge, London. To book your place visit; www.bettawards.com.
