Press Release: Nutmeg Education Joins Forces with Eclectic Media Productions
Nutmeg Education is an assessment/intervention platform for teachers and students that eases the burden of data collection and preparation for standardized tests, all for for free.
“We want to give teachers and students the tools they need to succeed; no student should fall short of their potential because of where they go to school or a lack of resources,” explains founder Jon Modica.
Founded in June of 2011, Nutmeg Education began building its free, crowd-sourced website with the help of over 60 dedicated teachers. They designed an easy-to-use platform that allows teachers to build customizable assessments from standards-aligned question banks. These digital assessments identify student weaknesses and point them to resources made by other teachers that help students improve their academic and standardized test performance. “We here at Nutmeg Education are honored to be represented by Shannon Rose and Eclectic Media and look forward to growing as one big family,” says Jon Modica.
Nutmeg Education’s online platform coincides with the rise of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) initiative, a state-led plan to provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, and consequently, what they will be tested on by their respective states. “Today, students and teachers have no efficient and affordable tool that empowers them to change outcomes on standardized tests, which determine whether a student can graduate, teachers’ jobs/salary, and school funding. We’re here to help,” Modica explains.
“I am glad to be a part of the growth we want to achieve with Nutmeg Education.” Says Shannon Rose, President of Eclectic Media Productions.
