Press Release: e-Cycle President and Co-Founder, Tonia Irion, Receives Waste & Recycling News’ 2013 Rosie Award
e-Cycle mobile buyback and recycling’s President and Co-founder, Tonia Irion, was recognized as a Waste & Recycling News 2013 Rosie Award winner. Named after Rosie the Riveter, the iconic and enduring symbol of the power of the American woman, the awards recognize women in the recycling, waste and sustainability industry who inspire greatness through their leadership, work ethic, vision, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized among such an inspirational group of woman who are leading their companies to new levels of innovation in the recycling industry,” said Irion. “The entire e-Cycle team is passionate about the protecting the environment from toxic e-waste and assisting our clients in making a positive difference in their communities.”
Tonia Irion co-founded e-Cycle in 2005 in an effort to provide responsible and secure solutions for reusing and recycling mobile phones and tablets. e-Cycle purchases reusable wireless devices from businesses and individuals, and sanitizes the confidential information on each device using rigorous, multi-step data deletion processes. e-Cycle recycles all end-of-life devices at no charge and ensures the toxic e-waste is kept from landfills. Through the e-Cycle Foundation, the company helps enterprises and individuals make tax-deductible, charitable contributions through revenues generated from their wireless recycling programs.
Waste & Recycling News received 83 outstanding nominations for this year’s Rosie Awards from across the nation. The judges saw executives, marketing specialists, engineers and truck drivers. Some built a business from the ground up; others worked their way through the ranks to the top. For the full list of 2013 winners, visit www.wasterecyclingnews.com/section/rosie13.
