Heritage Community Unit School District #8 Prepares to Use Standard for Success’ Online, Mobile Teacher Evaluation Software During 2013-14 School Year
INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 20, 2013)—Standard for Success, an online, fully customizable educator evaluation and management software, will make its way into Heritage Community Unit School District #8’s two schools this fall in Homer, Ill. They join nearly 350 schools in more than 60 school districts nationwide that are adopting technology to create a more streamlined and efficient teacher evaluation process that aligns with staff evaluation requirements evolving across the U.S.
“After training, we were extremely impressed with the staff and how professional and user-friendly the software was,” said Tom Davis, superintendent at Heritage Community Unit School District #8. “It’s varying capabilities excite us. From the capability to use it offline and sync it up later to the capability to see district and school-wide summaries for every domain, Standard for Success’ ease of use and customer service are a great fit with our needs as a district.”
The platform will go into effect for the 2013-14 school year. The district, which has 45 teachers and 520 students, is able to meet the requirements of a more stringent teacher and principal evaluation model through Standard for Success’ web-based portal accessible via a tablet or laptop. Standard for Success’ software is completely mobile, which helps organize information electronically while also reducing paperwork.
“We’re excited to enter into Illinois through Heritage Community schools and their use of our customizable software,” said Todd Whitlock, co-founder of Standard for Success. “Our ability to adapt to their evaluation model and streamline their processes will hopefully help their teachers, students and administrators experience an uptick in professional development opportunities. Education is an evergreen industry, and it’s important for all parties to receive constructive feedback to help them grow inside and outside of the classroom.”
With its easy-to-use interface, Standard for Success’ program allows for real-time evaluation of teachers while easing the burden on administrators through its diverse management features and archives. Teachers can chart professional development goals and division leadership can view school and division-wide summaries and drill down for specifics on particular groups – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
