myON Adds Disney Content to Digital Platform

Select Disney Digital Books Now Available to Schools via myON reader

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. Nov. 19, 2013 – myON, a business unit of Capstone, today announced the addition of digital books from Disney Publishing Worldwide, the world’s largest publisher of children’s books and magazines, to the myON reader platform . The collaboration brings the magic of Disney to schools nationwide that have access to myON, and features beloved characters from classic and contemporary Disney franchises and properties.

Launched in May 2011, the myON Publisher Program provides an opportunity for publishers to add their content to the myON platform. Since its inception, more than 36 publishers have joined the program, offering school districts an additional 1,600 titles across a range of subject areas, genres, and reading levels, to enhance and supplement their annual subscription. The basic subscription for myON reader includes more than 4,000 titles exclusively from Capstone’s award-winning imprints: Capstone Press, Compass Point Books, Heinemann-Raintree, Picture Window Books, and Stone Arch Books. All publishers’ titles include reading supports and are leveled using The Lexile® Framework for Reading.

myON reader provides online access to more than 5,600 enhanced digital books with multimedia supports – embedded dictionary, highlighting and naturally recorded audio – customized to a student’s interest and reading ability. Accessible at school or home, the platform creates a collaborative reading environment where students, educators and parents work together to support student reading performance. Students also have access to a safe, social network where they can read, rate, review, and recommend books to classmates. Students can access myON on laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile devices for an online or offline reading experience.
