Superintendent of Schools for the Salisbury Township School District
Michael Roth has served public education for the past 19 years. He is currently Superintendent of Schools for the Salisbury Township School District in Allentown, Pa., a suburban school district of 1,600 students. The district’s strategic plan, known as Teaching and Learning 2014 (TL2014.org), demonstrates a commitment from all stakeholders to transform the learning of all teachers and students through a thoughtful approach to using technology. Students and teachers are inspired to think and create using technology through a middle school and high school 1:1 program and a 2:1 infusion of resources at the elementary level. Primary-level students are using technology to record their own reading fluency and set goals with their teachers, while high school students are designing award-winning video presentations through Media Edge courses and participating in their own TEDx event. Salisbury Township School District is recognized as a 2013-15 Apple Distinguished Program recipient, is a Project RED Signature District, and has been identified by Clarity Bright Bytes as having outstanding results using its CASE Framework.
Superintendent of Meriden Public Schools
Mark Benigni has been Superintendent of the Meriden Public Schools in Connecticut since July 2010. During this time, the district has launched extended-day schools, full-day kindergarten for all students, a BYOD and 1:1 device initiative, a STARS Program for students with autism, and the district is focused on preparing all students for college and career success. Benigni has presented at state and national conferences and serves on professional organizations including the American Association of School Administrators, Connecticut Association of Urban Superintendents, and the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents. He has taught doctorate-level educational leadership classes at Southern Connecticut State University and is the author of the book, Mentoring Matters: A Toolkit for Organizing and Operating Student Advisory Programs.
