Press Release: 5 Million and Counting: SchoolReach Celebrates Milestone Message Broadcast

Use of leading school notification platform increases 43% in just over a year

ST. LOUIS, MO – SchoolReach, the school notification system that allows K-12 school administrators to instantly send important messages to parents, experienced a milestone event when the platform’s 5 millionth message broadcast was sent by a Michigan Montessori school.

“For more than 11 years, we’ve helped thousands of schools in every U.S. state send important messages to parents and staff,” said Paul Langhorst, SchoolReach co-founder. “Our platform has sent hundreds of millions of individual voice, text, e-mail, and social media messages, and we’re growing faster than ever before.”

“SchoolReach’s three-and-a-half-millionth message broadcast was sent in November 2012,” Mr. Langhorst continued. “The fact that the platform reached 5 million broadcasts a little more than a year later speaks to the growth and success of our company.”

The SchoolReach platform is used to send all kinds of parent communications, including school closing messages during times of inclement weather, automated attendance calls to parents when students are absent, lockdown notifications when emergencies happen on campus, and lunch balance notifications when student lunch account balances dip below a school-determined level.

Four Corners Montessori School, a tuition-free public school managed by MIChoice in Madison Heights, Michigan, used SchoolReach to send an attendance call broadcast on January 10.

“SchoolReach is an important component of our parent communication efforts,” said Chris Schoenherr, head of school at Four Corners Montessori. “We love SchoolReach’s ability to contact parents about any school-related issue.”

To celebrate Four Corners’ milestone broadcast, SchoolReach offered the school a special gift.

The Four Corners mascot is a dolphin, and last year, students raised money to support the World Wildlife Fund’s work to protect the endangered pink river dolphin. SchoolReach matched the students’ original donation and sent the school a World Wildlife Fund bucket full of plush animals.

“We’re thrilled to serve a school where students are encouraged to engage in the broader world,” said Mr. Langhorst. “We hope our small gift encourages Four Corners students to stay curious about the world and keep learning.”
