Assessments are now part of OpenEd’s free, standards-aligned content for the classroom
OpenEd has added more than 300,000 learning assessments to its catalog of 750,000 free, standard-aligned educational videos and games. The move enables teachers to search by keyword or Common Core standard to find online tests and quizzes that can assess students’ content mastery—free of charge.
“Teachers and parents worldwide are using OpenEd’s catalog of educational videos and games to enrich their students’ learning experience,” said Megan Frantz, math curator at OpenEd. “With the addition of assessments, educators now can use these to assess mastery of the material they are teaching.”
With one of the world’s largest catalogs of free, standard-aligned videos and games—all curated by educators—OpenEd can help teachers enhance their lesson plans, integrate multimedia content into instruction, and assist students with their work in class or at home, its creators say.
While OpenEd can be used with any learning management system, it also provides its own free LMS, allowing teachers to create courses while using a “recommendation engine” to find the best relevant material available. Teachers also can create a “Playlist” of videos that can be shared with students or colleagues.
