Alexandria, VA (8/5/2014) –ASCD, a global community dedicated to excellence in learning, teaching, and leading, invites education leaders at all levels to join the association at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., from October 31 to November 2, 2014, to learn immediate, practical strategies to achieve great educational leadership.
Attendees at the ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership will connect with leaders and experts from school districts across the country, learn about the latest breakthroughs in school and district administration, and learn new strategies and technologies for improving school performance.
“The definition of an education leader is no longer solely limited to a school principal or superintendent; it now includes teacher leaders, administrators, and other educators who guide colleagues and peers,” said Judy Seltz, executive director of ASCD. “We have shaped the upcoming Conference on Educational Leadership with this evolution in mind. The conference will provide best practices and strategies for not only the traditional leader but also teacher leaders and other aspiring leaders in education.”
ASCD authors such as Baruti Kafele, Grant Wiggins, and Robyn Jackson will lead conference sessions and pre-conference institutes alongside other ASCD experts. Sessions are geared toward participants with varying levels of experience, positions, and school levels in order to give attendees the opportunity to choose sessions that best relate to their needs and interests. Session levels range from introductory (designed for participants with limited or no previous experience with presentation content) to advanced (designed for participants who are very familiar with the content but what more advanced information).
In addition to providing one-of-a-kind professional development, the ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership will feature special events for attendees such as a welcome reception, networking breakfasts and discussions, a keynote luncheon with ASCD author James Stronge, and debriefing sessions.
Registration for the ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership is $429 for ASCD members and $493 for nonmembers. ASCD is also offering discounts for teams—when four people from the same school or organization register together, the fifth registration is free. Every fifth person who registers from a school or district may attend the ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership, pre-conference institutes, or both at no cost.
Attendees are encouraged to follow the conversation on Twitter and connect with other educators by using the official hashtag #ASCDCEL14.
