August 20, 2014 (Calhoun, GA) — TabPilot Learning Systems now offers “white glove” service to prepare tablets for out-of-the box deployment to classrooms. The service is available to all customers who purchase TabPilot Tablet Manager and includes installation and configuration of TabPilot on each device and registration into the TabPilot cloud-based management system. A premium-level custom service can also include configuring tablets with the school’s Wi-Fi settings, pre-installing selected apps on the devices, and even asset tagging the devices with school-issued asset tags.
TabPilot Founder and CEO, Jarrett Volzer explains, “With our white glove service, we ease the burden on school staff to prepare tablets for use by students, thus reducing the time where tablets sit unused, waiting for processing before they can be used in classrooms. With our premium service, a school can literally take tablets out of the box and hand them to students or place them on carts for classroom use.”
TabPilot offers the White Glove Service on tablets purchased directly from TabPilot Learning Systems as well as those purchased from other vendors and shipped to TabPilot for processing. Pricing ranges from $12 to $20 per device based on the level of service and customization selected. The service is available starting September 1, 2014.
TabPilot Tablet Manager is a cloud-based management system that puts teachers in control of classroom tablets. Tablets are locked down so that students see only teacher-enabled apps and web links. Features include a secure browser, app and content distribution, and classroom management functions such as screen freeze and screen monitoring. TabPilot also carries the Breea brand of tablets and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education tablets. Schools can request a trial version of TabPilot Tablet Manager at www.tabpilot.com.
