Scientia , leaders in resource scheduling, optimisation and timetabling solutions for universities worldwide, has won a major contract from ESADE, Spain’s leading private business school in MBA and executive education and a top global centre for management education.

The contract covers the supply of Scientia’s powerful and easy-to-use Enterprise Foundation timetabling software and related products Web Room Booking, Scientia Connect (the new integration platform) and Scientia Publish! (the new suite of Web services that deliver up-to-date personalised timetables directly to students and academic staff, 24 hours a day, all year round, on any screen).

The Scientia solution will allow ESADE to meet its need to provide students and staff with well-organised timetables, while maximising its available space – driving utilisation up and costs down.

Commenting on the contract for ESADE, Nuria Mayo Subirats, who is Director of the Registrar’s Office, said, “We were keen to become more efficient by optimising our planning and scheduling so that we could increase the number of students and courses within the school, without the need for new buildings.

“It’s also important that we have the best possible timetables for our professors, particularly because they work across our three campuses in Barcelona, Sant Cugat and Madrid.”

The contract roll out began in September 2014 and will be completed by March 2015.

Commenting on the deal, Tim Porter, Head of Global Sales and Marketing at Scientia, said, “We are delighted to be working with ESADE, an internationally respected academic institution with over 50 years of history. This win, which expands our reach into the Spanish market, is a great indicator that Spain’s improving economy is being supported by increased investment in higher education.”
