Neverware launches cloud-based operating system

Innovative cloud-based software installation will make its industry debut at TCEA 2015

Chromebooks are one of the hottest trends in ed tech, but with ever-tightening district budgets, schools are struggling to balance new expenditures with previous PC investments that reportedly account for approximately 80 percent of the hardware in schools.

To combat this, Neverware has launched CloudReady, a product that provides a bridge for PCs to migrate to the faster, lighter, centrally managed, browser-based world of Google Apps for Education.

Created using Google’s open source operating system, Chromium, CloudReady transforms a PC into a light, fast, secure, cloud-based user experience.

PCs running CloudReady can be used in a classroom together with Chromebooks; creating a unified, singular, consistent, Google Apps for Education experience.

From a management perspective, technology administrators will be able to work with a unified network, under a single Google Admin console thus lightening the management load on school and district IT staff; while breathing new life into hardware expenditures of the past few years.

The Chromebook user experience has the power to change education as we know it, but schools face real challenges when it comes to balancing their existing technology infrastructure while embracing the new cloud-based operating system.

Even for schools with the budget to invest in moving to Chromebooks, CloudReady ensures that their existing PC infrastructure remains relevant. The road to one-to-one adoption in schools just became a little bit shorter with CloudReady!

Neverware will unveil CloudReady at the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) 2015 conference in Austin, Texas.

“Everyone in the Ed tech industry knows that TCEA is a key conference for new products to make their debut,” said founder and CEO Jonathan Hefter. “We look forward to introducing CloudReady to all of the attendees and industry stakeholders there, and we hope they walk away as excited about CloudReady as we are.”
