edWeb.net, a professional learning and social network for the education community, is launching edWeb.TV, a PD-on-demand service that lets educators search and view edWeb’s archive of more than 500 professional learning “edWebinars.”

The new edWeb.TV reflects an increasing demand from educators, schools, and districts for an easier way to search and watch edWeb’s webinar archives. Many educators have expressed a desire to “binge-watch” edWeb archives to earn certificates that they can submit for credit for their professional development hours.

edWeb.TV will provide multi-user licenses to make access much easier for widespread use by school districts and colleges of education.

Lisa Schmucki, founder and CEO of edWeb.net, commented, “Our primary purpose in launching edWeb.TV is to reach more educators with the exceptional programs that have been created through our collaboration with so many partners and sponsors. We will continue to encourage all educators to join a professional learning community on edWeb.net for deeper collaboration, but there are so many teachers, schools, and districts who want an easier way to access our exceptional webinar archives. We want this content to reach as many educators as possible.”

Professional development for teachers and school leaders is critical to the nation’s ability to improve teaching and learning. Many schools and districts lack the time, the funds, and the expertise to help teachers adapt to all the changes and innovations in education, many driven by the increasing advances in technology.

edWeb.TV provides access to more than 500 of edWeb’s webinars, organized into 40 edWeb.TV channels for easy browsing of the collection. Channels on edWeb.TV include topics such as: Technology for Learning, Common Core, Game-Based Learning, Connected Teaching and Learning, Leadership and Administration, Digital Citizenship, Early Childhood Learning, and more.

All edWebinars are correlated to the leading National PD Standards and subscribers can search for programs correlated to any of the standards and download the correlations:
Danielson’s Framework for Teaching
ISTE for Administrators (ISTE-A)
ISTE for Teachers (ISTE-T)
Educational Leadership Policy Standards (CCSSO)
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS)
National Staff Development Council (NSDC)

There are no changes to edWeb.net’s free services, and all webinars will continue to be archived on edWeb.net in the professional learning communities that host the programs. The subscription fees for the new edWeb.TV platform are for the convenience of accessing all edWebinars on-demand, obtaining a CE certificate for viewing, for the alignment to National PD Standards, and for the ability to watch edWebinars on any device.
