Nonprofit grant will go to school administrators developing one-to-one programs
Nonprofit Digital Wish is offering technical support grants to school administrators who need assistance with planning one-to-one computing programs for their elementary or middle schools.
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis through the summer months. The grant is open to public, charter and nonprofit independent schools.
Digital Wish has implemented one-to-one computing programs in 28 schools — developing expertise, evaluation programs and sustainability tools that can help get a school’s one-to-one technology program off the ground.

Digital wish advisors will work with a school’s planning team to help build their technology plan, evaluate equipment needs and explore budgeting and financing options.
Digital Wish will provide their IT curriculum packages along with training. Schools will come away with a one-to-one technology implementation strategy, turnkey standards based IT curriculum and training, financing options and an action plan for sustaining their program.
The grant award includes over $4,500 in support resources:
· 10 hours of technical support to evaluate and help develop a one-to-one program ($2,000 value)
· Sustainability Action Plan Tool ($99 value)
· Video conference with one of our 1:1 trainers ($175 value)
· Grant searches using GrantStation ($249 value)
· Digital Wish’s Complete IT Curriculum Package, Grades 3-6 ($2,000 value)
· Digital Citizenship for Middle Schools Curriculum ($299 value)
· Discounts for on-site Digital Citizenship and Cyber Safety training.
“Our aim is to help schools get started with developing a one-to-one computing program, including the use of a learning management system and electronic student portfolios. Ideally, we’re looking to help create pilot programs that school leaders can use to evaluate the effectiveness of having a mobile computer for each student.” says Digital Wish Founder Heather Chirtea.
Schools interested in starting a pilot one-to-one program are encouraged to apply.
