Second Avenue Learning partners with BrainPOP for trail program

As the conventions and election season draw near, a new partnership between Second Avenue Learning and BrainPOP will help provide new digital resources for educators teaching students about the election process. The partnership was announced to coincide with the recent ISTE 2016 conference in Denver.

Mainly, BrainPOP [1]will offer its users a free feature-limited trial of Second Avenue Learning’s Voters Ed program [2]. A web application that supports whiteboards, computers and tablets, Voters Ed provides information on primaries and polls, prediction maps based on delegate counts, historical data and lesson plans. With the interactive tool, teachers will be able to engage students in the electoral process and upcoming presidential election.

“This partnership supports our initiative to innovate and improve education through interactive digital learning experiences,” said Victoria Van Voorhis, founder and CEO of Second Avenue Learning. “We’re targeting civics education specifically because students of all ages should have access to tools that develop citizenship skills and understand the electoral process.”

“We’re thrilled to play a role in bringing Voters Ed to a larger audience and teaching kids about the election process,” said Allisyn Levy, Vice President of GameUp, BrainPOP’s online learning games portal. “We’ve been long-time fans of Second Avenue Learning, an organization that shares our dedication to creating quality digital resources for students and their teachers. We’re confident that the pairing of our resources will help students become well-informed decision-makers in their communities and beyond.”

Founded by educators and gamers, Second Avenue Learning provides custom development and managed services to education technology clients. BrainPOP creates cross-curricular digital content that engages students through animated movies, learning games, interactive quizzes, concept mapping, and an array of related activities.
