Seven months into its partnership with Achieve3000, a Calcasieu Parish School in Lake Charles, La., saw greater than expected literacy gains on the Spring 2016 Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP) for English language arts among middle school students regularly using one of Achieve3000’s differentiated literacy solutions. The goal of this long-term partnership, which started in late October 2015, is to accelerate learning and put Ray D. Molo Middle School students on track for college and career success. Read more.

Seeking a transformative yet efficient way to realize its curriculum and instructional goals, Sun Prairie Area School District in Wisconsin is implementing the itslearning learning management system. The district joins South Western School District in Hanover, Pennsylvania and Hamilton County Educational Service Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, respectively in the single end-to-end enterprise teaching and learning platform. The Tennessee State Board of Education today adopted new K-12 science standards that include climate change education at its meeting in Nashville today. The standards are modeled after Next Generation Science Standards. The newly adopted Tennessee science standards include the climate and clean energy standards such as: Engage in argument from evidence regarding the impacts of human activity on climate change. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) released HMH Science Dimensions, the first comprehensive K-12 science curriculum created specifically to meet the new Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), a set of science education standards developed by states nationwide. HMH Science Dimensions is the first program designed, tested, and engineered to address the complexities of NGSS and lead students to mastery of its concepts. Read more.
