Students are asked to create a short (5-8 minute) video documentary on a topic related to the theme "Message to the President": What's the most important issue the president should consider in 2013? Maximum award: $5,000, plus $1,000 in digital equipment for school. Eligibility: individuals or teams of two to three students grades 6-8 or grades 9-12.  ]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Kids from all over the country are invited to put their thinking caps on and enter their ideas for new businesses in the 2nd annual Secret Millionaires Club “Grow Your Own Business Challenge”.  The Secret Millionaires Club is an animated series created by A2 Entertainment featuring the voice of Warren Buffett as a mentor to a group of kids as they learn important financial and entrepreneurial lessons. Students ages 7-16 are invited to put their entrepreneurial skills to work and create a new business idea for this national online challenge. Entries must be submitted by February 15, 2013. Four individuals and two team finalists in the competition will be flown to Omaha, NE in May 2013 to present their winning ideas to Mr. Buffett and a panel of VIP judges. One Grand Prize individual and one Grand prize team will each be awarded $5000. The finalists will be invited to nominate a teacher who was most inspirational in the process to join them in Omaha and win up to $1,000.]]></description>

Education grants will provide support and/or facilitate access to services and resources that contribute to improved educational outcomes for economically disadvantaged individuals, especially children. CNCS is particularly interested in program designs that support youth engagement and service-learning as strategies to achieve improved academic outcomes. Grant activities will improve:
• School readiness for economically disadvantaged young children.
• Educational and behavioral outcomes of students in low-achieving elementary, middle, and high schools.
• The preparation for and prospects of success in post-secondary education institutions for economically disadvantaged students.

That's why YSA and Sodexo Foundation are calling on young people to "take hunger personally" and join the fight to end childhood hunger. Sodexo Foundation Youth Grants of $500 grants are available for youth-led service projects that bring together young people, families, Sodexo employees and other community members to address childhood hunger. U.S. young people, ages 5-25, are eligible to apply. Projects will take place on or around Global Youth Service Day, April 26-28, 2013. ]]></description>
