Tammy Worcester is a wonderful presenter. She knows how hard it can seem to integrate technology into the classroom but she also knows the immediate gratification teachers experience once they master basic skills. Best of all, she packed her presentation with quick tips and short cuts. After a brief introduction she began the class with her “Let me see a fist to five” request where participants indicate their skill level by raising their hands and holding up the number of fingers indicating their skill level in the program. While Microsoft products are frequently available to students Tammy’s books cover other program applications as well. In this workshop she shared products created with the Microsoft Office suite using PowerPoint and Excel. We used a blank slide to create a Healthy Body man. It was intended to print, cut and assemble and it would be a wonderful activity for k-3. She shared tips to create continuous play presentations. The item we created was a visual interactive water cycle using clip art movies and PowerPoint drawing tools. Simple, fast, projects easy to recreate in the classroom. Learn one method and create hundreds of projects. This is a huge time savings in the classroom. Her objective is to provide teachers with simple inexpensive materials. I look forward to seeing her other topics. She shared her website with the class. It is easy to navigate and loaded with fantastic ideas for technology integration.
