IBM helps students put their heads in the cloud

IBM on Nov. 4 announced a program designed to help educators and students pursue cloud-computing initiatives and better take advantage of collaboration technology in their studies, CNET reports. The IBM Cloud Academy, announced at the annual Educause conference, includes a global roster of educational institutions as initial participants. IBM will provide the cloud-based infrastructure for the program, with some basic collaboration tools available at the outset. Participants in the new system will be able to create working groups on areas of interest; collaborate on new education-related cloud innovations with IBM developers; work jointly on technical projects across institutions; and share research findings and exchange new ideas...
