A new web site designed specifically for school guidance counselors provides information to help them guide students to college funding. From the U.S. Department of Education (ED), "Federal Student Aid for Counselors" contains a number of resources regarding applications, requirements, and deadlines for federal financial aid. The site also links to ED-recommended procedures for applying for aid, as well as resources to help counselors organize Financial Aid Night seminars at their schools. Links to ED-sponsored videoconferences are available to take counselors through the process step by step. Information regarding deadlines and requirements for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) also is available here. Other resources include a comprehensive glossary of commonly used financial aid terms and a list of frequently asked questions.
