LAS VEGAS, June 13, 2007--Just prior to the annual book convention in New York City, Parmenides Publishing won the 2007 Benjamin Franklin Award® for Best Audiobook in Adult Nonfiction for their audiobook publication of Homer´s ILIAD. The ILIAD (unabridged, 12 CDs/15 hrs, $42.00) is translated and narrated by Stanley Lombardo, Professor of Classics at the University of Kansas. A native of New Orleans, he is an award-winning translator and an acclaimed performer. The Introduction is written by noted classicist Tom Palaima from the University of Texas at Austin. Academy Award®-winning actress Susan Sarandon reads the Introduction and Synopses.
