MILPITAS, CA – October 15, 2009 – AVerMedia Information, Inc., the leading provider of digital multimedia and presentation technology, announced today the launch of the third annual AVerVision Scholarship Program. This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to one graduating high school senior that plans to attend an accredited four year university and shows a desire to make a positive impact on the world around them through their education. Applicants are required to include a professional resume, completed application, one page essay as well as two positive recommendations from current or former teachers. This scholarship program has proven successful over the past two years, providing students with additional resources to achieve their academic and career goals and awarding educators with classroom solutions that impact student learning.
AVerMedia instituted this scholarship program in 2008 in order to support dedicated graduating high school seniors in their collegiate aspirations. As an educational technology provider, AVerMedia values student achievement and recognizes the impact an interactive learning environment can have on a student's success. Applicants are required to write a one page essay explaining how classroom technology has changed throughout the years and how it has influenced their learning environment. AVerMedia also strives to place the necessary tools in the hands of educators to achieve this success. Therefore, this scholarship program also rewards the two teachers that provide recommendations to the winning applicant each with an AVerVision Interactive Document Camera. The winner of the AVerMedia 2010 Scholarship will receive the $5,000 prize over the course of four years after proof of enrollment and acceptance has been provided.
Applications will be accepted starting now and must be postmarked by March 26, 2010 for consideration. The winner of AVerMedia's Scholarship will be announced on May 17, 2010 at www.avermedia-usa.com/presentation.
