    From Dell Public, Sept. 28--Dell TechKnow received high marks for customer satisfaction in its end-of-term survey of students and teachers. Middle school students praised the Dell TechKnow program with 98 percent surveyed citing they "would recommend the program to other students," and 100 percent of teachers polled saying they would "recommend the program be repeated in their district and at another school."...

"Let's be clear from the outset that the hard part is not getting the idea of creating a $100 laptop for students, nor is coming up with a nice design on paper. Obviously the hard part is getting the thing manufactured and into children's hands on time and at your projected price point. Nonetheless, we should all be pleased with the MIT Media Lab's first specs and drawings of the $100 Laptop, an idea first announced by Nicholas Negroponte in January. ... I'll be much more excited if they actually have a prototype in November, as they're projecting. I don't know if they can pull this off, and quite frankly, I'm not counting on it. But if they do, it will be an epochal development in educational technology...."
