SPECIAL REPORTS
Printing and Storage solutions
From student worksheets, projects, and permission slips, to school board presentations
and agendas, the amount of information to be printed and stored in school systems
can be overwhelming--not to mention quite costly. But recent trends
and technological advancements in printing and storage solutions are making it
possible for schools to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars over the life
of the new equipment, and the maintenance of these devices has become much simpler.
Video Goes to School, Part III
More and more teachers nationwide are using video as an instructional tool to
excite and engage students. From their experience, video assignments motivate
students to go beyond what is expected of them. Plus, the cost of digital video
cameras and editing software keeps dropping, while the technology's capability
and ease of use increases. That means equipping
an entire classroom is now affordable
for nearly every school.
MEET THE ED-TECH INSIDERS
eSchool News Online now features eSN Ed-Tech
Insider. If you haven't checked out Ed-Tech Insider yet, here's
a sample of what you've been missing from our ed-tech experts:
From Will Richardson ...
"There has been a post brewing in my brain for quite a while now about tags
and tagging and tapping into the social power of folksonomies. Like podcasting,
the whole tagging thing is not something I've been able to fully embrace, partially
because it just leads me to that information overload part of my brain. I've
tried adding Technorati tags on my own blog, but it hasn't caught on. Aside from
the occasional conference tag, I've never felt like what I've subscribed to tag-wise
at Technorati or del.icio.us has been all that helpful. It's either too divergent
or too overwhelming to get through...."
