AARA Success Story

In 2009, 58 counselors in Fairfax County school district were notified that their jobs would be eliminated due to a $120 million budget deficit. Through the ARRA, the school district received $23.7 million. Some of the funding was used to save all 58 counselor positions. According to www.recovery.gov, the ARRA has created or saved approximately 325,000 education jobs so far.
