Lewisville ISD has an extensive 1:1 Mobile Device initiative that incorporates 65,000+ devices including iPads, Macs and PCs spread across 70 schools. The District has just over 50+ Technical Support staff, so managing such a large deployment, provisioning devices, and keeping track of software and other details was a significant challenge.

Mark Bulthaup
Desktop Management Lead, Lewisville ISD

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mark Bulthaup graduated from University of Arizona in 2001 with a degree in Management Information Systems and obtained his Masters in the same field from University of Phoenix in 2006. Mark started working for Lewisville Independent School District as a field technician, working his way up in varying capacities to take on his current role of Desktop Management Lead.

Mark Bulthaup is responsible for managing LISD’s Desktop Management team, a group of 6 individuals who oversee deployment and remote maintenance of approximately 70,000 end user devices. Mark was been with LISD for 8 and a half years and has been in his current role for the last two. As the Desktop Management Lead, Mark is the technical lead on LISD’s 1:X initiative – a technology based initiative that is meant to provide the right device at the right time to students for use in the 21st Century classroom. Mark has overseen the deployment of 25,000+ iPads and 12,000+ MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs in the last year and a half.

 

Tim Williams
Director of Product Management, Absolute Software

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tim Williams is the Director of Product Management for Absolute Software. He has helped develop tools for managing multiplatform and mobile environments, and consulted with major commercial and government organizations in planning their endpoint security and management strategies for more than fifteen years. A former United States Army officer, Tim has more than twenty total years of experience in high tech. Prior to joining Absolute, he was responsible for endpoint management software sales in the Southeastern United States for Symantec Corporation. Tim also led the global marketing team for the software division of Netopia, Inc., since acquired by Motorola.
