“Every change is an opportunity,” is a concept Madison County School System (MCSS) takes very seriously. A recent unified communications implementation encouraged Tommy Whitten, District Technology Coordinator, to take a step back and evaluate the entire 28-school infrastructure. Like most districts, the individual schools had gradually incorporated disparate systems, service providers, and management processes.

Join us to see how Whitten and his staff of seven streamlined network management and deployment from one central data center location for unified communications, servers, the wireless network, and other networking functions. MCSS was able to design a progressive network that immediately gained the district cost savings in the thousands.

Highlights include:

• Consolidating management at one central location reduces CapEx and OpEx

• Standardized systems and deployment accelerated the district’s technology plan

• Tips for evaluating the overall infrastructure for TOC (Total Cost of Ownership)

• Developing plans to maximizing savings – energy, maintenance, management, and hardware expenses

• How MCSS uses technology to attract students away from neighboring school districts
