The appeal of this art detective is no mystery

This is an art history adventure developed by Educational Web Adventures for grades 4 and up. “The Case of Grandpa’s Painting” is a film-noir style detective story in which students try to discover the artist of a mysterious painting by comparing the works of Raphael, Titian, Van Gogh, Millet, Gaugin, and Picasso. In the process, they learn about such concepts as color, composition, style, and subject. If you like this adventure, you should also follow the link to another art history web quest called “Inside Art.”
