In Florida, administrators, educators, and legislators first planned a statewide strategy to define goals, management, and coordination to plot the future of education technology. Thus, the Florida Distance Learning Network was created to draft infrastructure standards, maximize cost-effectiveness, develop curricular initiatives, and otherwise manage and oversee the installation of the state’s distance learning programs.

With the plan drafted, Florida now hopes the E-rate discount can help pay for its plans to obtain and maintain connections to the Internet.
