If an Arkansas legislator has his way, every school in the state will have to install a metal detector.

"I'm not saying this is the answer to the problem we had in Jonesboro, but I want to try to do something," said Democratic Rep. Bobby Trammell, who represents part of the city where four students and a teacher died in a schoolyard shooting March 24.

When the state's General Assembly reconvenes in January, Trammell plans to introduce legislation that would require a police officer and metal detector at every school.
