Trying to find the best way to keep the link open between school and home, grades 5-6 teacher Chris Gustafson turned to a tried and true technology: the telephone. Simple phone calls every month to the homes of her students yielded invaluable insight into situations and factors affecting a student’s performance, as well as a much needed increase in parents’ involvement and interest in their children’s schoolwork.
