The GTE Foundation announced that applications are available for the 2000 Growth Initiatives for Teachers (GIFT) grant program. Sixty GIFT grants are awarded to teams of public and private school math and science teachers who have developed school enrichment projects integrating math, science, and the use of technology.

Winning teams share a $12,000—$7,000 to implement the project, and $2,500 each for pursuing professional development.

The grant is open to teachers in grades 7-12 in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
