The U.S. Department of Education’s Preparing Tommorow’s Teachers to Use Technology grant program has been extended for a second year. The department said it will offer roughly 80 new implementation grants next year for these professional development grants, at an average of $400,000 a year for a two-year endowment.

The department will also offer 14 new Catalyst grants, which will average $650,000 a year over two years. However, new Capacity Building grants will not be available.

The department said grant guidelines will be released in January, with the deadline for applications set for March. Awards will be announced in June. More information is available on the department’s web site (http://www.ed.gov/teachtech).
