Math Literacy Week is the brainchild of Digi-Block, Inc., which is offering free materials to educators nationwide. These materials include classroom activities and worksheets, family night activities and handouts, and more, all designed to increase awareness of the need for a strong mathematics foundation for today’s students and to support mathematics learning both at school and at home. These resources can easily be incorporated into existing lesson plans and used with a variety of textbooks and supplemental programs.

An initial set of free materials is available online at http://www.mathliteracy.com. During the summer months, additional resources and information will be added to to the site, including facts about the state of math learning in our country, sample proclamations, signed proclamations, and much more.
