The United States Mint is holding a contest to increase the educational resources available on its educational web site, H.I.P. Pocket Change (H.I.P. stands for “History In Your Pocket”). Teachers nationwide are invited to submit creative, coin-centric lesson ideas that involve the use or history of coins for the chance to win one of three prizes. The first prize is a 2003 1 oz. American Eagle Gold Bullion Coin, valued at $380. The second prize is a 2003 1/2 oz. American Eagle Gold Bullion Coin, valued at $195. The third prize is a 2003 1/4 oz. American Eagle Gold Bullion Coin, valued at $101.
