Educational publisher Pearson Education has acquired LessonLab, an education research and state-of-the-art technologies for teaching and professional development. Pearson Education previously held a minority ownership in LessonLab, and in 2001 announced a partnership to deliver LessonLab’s online platform to Pearson Education’s K-12 customers. The new LessonLab incorporates all of Pearson Education’s professional development businesses.

Schools get free SAT prep hotline for one week in October

Because many students cram for the SAT exam, The Princeton Review is offering its instructors and strategies for free from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10 to help students boost their scores, confidence, and test-taking skills. Each day of the hotline, students will get new sample SAT questions, answers, and strategies and have an opportunity to eMail, chat, or phone a live Princeton Review instructor with any questions. The chat and phone will be available from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST and eMail will be available 24 hours a day.

Hotmath offers free online homework help to CMP textbook users

Hotmath Inc., which operates a math homework-help web site covering more than 35 popular textbooks, announced that online homework help for College Preparatory Mathematics (CPM) textbook users will be available now through July 15, 2004 for free on the Hotmath web site. Normally, parents or schools pay a license fee to access Hotmath. However, under the Hotmath/CPM agreement, homework help on math problems from CPM textbooks is now available for free.
